From the heights of Kula on Maui, you can see both the north and west coasts of the island. This view from Harold W. Rice park shows not only Maui, but Lanai and Kaho’olawe. Molokai is hidden behind the west Maui mountains. Though signs forbid it, children often slide down the grassy hill on cardboard since the only snow on the island is a rare sprinkling on the top of Haleakala.
